### Agent keeps asking questions and halting

Foundry **halts** when the agent asks a question or proposes alternatives instead of executing. **Fix:** Make task instructions very specific. Clarify via the operator interface and resume.

### State is not persisting

Check that DragonflyDB is running: `docker ps`, `redis-cli -h localhost -p 6499 ping`. Foundry will fail fast if it cannot reach the persistence layer.

### Token costs are too high

- Enable deterministic validation so many tasks pass without AI.

- Use a local helper model (Ollama) for verification.

- Inspect `prompts.log.jsonl` for oversized task descriptions or context.

### Redis connection refused

Ensure `--redis-host` and `--redis-port` match your DragonflyDB. Default port is 6499. If using Docker, use `localhost` from the host.

### Task stuck or queue not advancing

Run `status` to see supervisor and queue state. Check for blocked tasks or halt reason. Use investigation scripts (provider health, queue inspector) if available in the repo.

### Cursor CLI Not Found

Set the path: `export CURSOR_CLI_PATH=/path/to/cursor`
