| Term | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **Operator** | The human who injects goals, tasks, and halt/resume commands. |
| **Supervisor / Foundry** | The control plane that runs the loop, dispatches to providers, validates, and persists state. |
| **Task** | A single unit of work: intent, instructions, acceptance criteria, tool (provider). |
| **Goal** | High-level objective for a project; per `project_id`. |
| **Sandbox** | Directory `sandbox//` where the agent works. |
| **Validation** | Deterministic checks (and optionally helper agent) to verify a task is done. |
| **Deterministic validator** | Local, non-AI checks (regex, file existence, tests, AST). |
| **Helper agent** | AI used only when deterministic checks are uncertain; generates verification commands. |
| **BYOK** | Bring your own keys; you supply provider API/CLI access. |
| **AUTO MODE** | Default execution mode; supervisor runs until goal or halt. |
| **ProviderStrategy** | Configuration for primary/secondary provider adapters with circuit breaker fallback. 3 built-in + custom via UI. |
| **Session Reuse** | Helper sessions cached per project to reduce token consumption across iterations. |
| **Scheduler** | V2 component that manages the task dependency graph (DAG) and promotes tasks from waiting to ready. |
| **Worker Pool** | Configurable set of workers (default: 3) that poll the ready queue and execute tasks in isolated git worktrees. |
| **Dual-Queue** | Ready queue (all deps met, active) + Waiting queue (unmet deps, passive). Replaces single FIFO queue. |
| **Safety Layer** | Middleware that intercepts tool calls, blocks destructive commands, enforces sandbox confinement. |
| **Git Worktree** | Isolated copy of the repo per worker, preventing file conflicts during parallel task execution. |
